In the Year of Renyin, We Celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Wade New Materials

On behalf of the China National Building Waterproof Association, I extend my warm congratulations and best wishes to Mr. Xie Fuqiang, Chairman of Wade New Materials, and to the company under his leadership.

Ingenuity Forged, Excellence Tempered

Abundant archaeological evidence confirms that China was the first country in the world to invent bricks and tiles. As early as 7,000 years ago, the prototype of tiles emerged. Later, during the reign of Zhuanxu, the “First Chinese Tile” was created, ending the primitive era of “thatched roofs and earthen platforms” for the Chinese nation and pioneering Chinese architectural culture.

During the Xia, Shang, and Zhou dynasties, China witnessed a second revolution in tile-making technology, with the successive appearance of exquisite flat tiles, cylindrical tiles, and tile ends. After the Qin and Han dynasties, tile culture integrated artistic elements such as shape, carving, painting, and calligraphy. During the Song, Ming, and Qing dynasties, glazed tiles — which influenced centuries of later architecture — embodied the rich connotation of Chinese “harmony culture”, endowing buildings with greater aesthetic value.

Along with the evolution of human civilization and the advancement of the Industrial Revolution, building materials and architecture themselves have been continuously updated in line with scientific progress, urban development, nature, and culture.

After China’s reform and opening-up, in the early 1990s, foreign tile manufacturers represented by Lafarge (France), Burlingham (US), Fuji (Japan) established factories in Guangdong, Shanghai, Jiangsu and other regions. With advanced production equipment, innovative manufacturing processes, and complete marketing and management systems, they strongly promoted technological innovation in China’s brick and tile industry, won wide market recognition, and enjoyed extraordinary prominence.

Wade colored tiles quickly gained wide recognition in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and North China, and were adopted and praised by renowned real estate developers and landmark projects.

On January 19, 2015, the groundbreaking ceremony for Wade New Materials’ Annual 2,000,000 ㎡ Roofing System Materials Project was solemnly held at the Kefu’an Factory in Cheng’an, Handan. Experts, scholars, and foreign friends in China’s tile roofing industry witnessed the commissioning of Wade’s first fully imported Italian Vortex fully automatic colored cement tile production line. This marked the entry of China’s tile roofing materials manufacturing into a new intelligent, modern era.

Green, Low-Carbon, Innovative and Shared

Modern architecture provides comfortable living spaces, yet buildings and human activities account for more than 60% of social energy consumption. Achieving the “3060” dual-carbon goals sets higher, faster, and stronger standards for building energy efficiency and renewable energy application.

Based on product characteristics, regional building energy efficiency requirements, architectural styles, and national standards, the company took the lead in proposing the “Integrated Roofing System” theory in China. Among them, the “Ventilated Roof System” and “Energy-Saving Roof System” have been widely recognized and applied by experts, scholars, and developers.

Recently, to pursue the new goals of “dual-carbon economy and green development”, Wade New Materials has leveraged its industrial, innovative, brand, and market advantages to cooperate with leading PV enterprises in jointly developing Wade’s BIPV (Building Integrated Photovoltaics) product line. This will become a key growth driver for the tile roofing industry.

Wade at 30: A Promising Future

After 30 years of development, Wade New Materials has become a pioneer and leader in the production and application of tile roofing both at home and abroad.

Wade New Materials is one of the initiators and promoters of the Tile Roofing Technology Branch of our association. Since the branch’s establishment, as vice-chairman unit, Wade has fulfilled the association’s mission, upheld industry development, and led in technological progress, skills training, and technical exchanges — winning high praise from the association and peers.

In closing, on behalf of the China National Building Waterproof Association, I once again wish Wade New Materials, under the leadership of Chairman Xie Fuqiang, to gather wisdom and strength, overcome challenges, strengthen foundations, and scale new heights.
